The Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts will host a free performance by swing banjoist Cynthia Sayer and her group, Sparks Fly Band, as part of its 50 Free Nights summer concert series at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 8, at the pavilion, 40 Jesup Road.

Her family-friendly show will include hot jazz, western, tango, virtuoso classics, old favorites and other music, according to a news release from the performer.

Sayer, a member of Woody Allen's jazz band for over 10 years, tours internationally and has played with artists such as Wynton Marsalis, Les Paul, Dick Hyman, Bill Cosby and Marvin Hamlisch. She has been inducted into the American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame and her latest CD, "Attractions," which includes jazz guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli, received two award nominations. Her new CD, "Joyride," will be released this fall, the release states.
