Westport Public Library will host a talk by filmmaker Sumner Jules Glimcher at noon Friday, April 5, in the library's McManus Room, 20 Jesup Road.

Glimcher, also professor emeritus at New York University, will discuss the "Publishing Revolution: Self-Publishing, Reading Tablets, and Ebooks." He will show film excerpts embedded into the ebook version of his recent memoir, "A Filmmaker's Journal."

Glimcher, a Westport resident since 1960, has created programs for radio, television and film and taught at Harvard University, Columbia University and New York University. He has also been a consultant to Harvard's president, the United Nations and, for more than 20 years, to the consulate general of Japan.

Glimcher co-founded the Westport Arts Center, where he arranged film talks when it was in Greens Farms School.

Paperback versions of his memoir will be available for purchase and autographing at the talk, which is free.
