An open book: Library sets open house for newcomers
The Westport Library has planned an open house on Saturday afternoon, Aug. 24, to showcase its array of services -- from lending books, DVDs and Blu-ray discs to scanning and emailing documents to making plastic objects on a 3D printer, having a latte in the cafe or buying gifts.
The open house is planned from 2 to 4 p.m., and the library said it would be designed for people who may be new to Westport or simply don't know what the library offers.
Tours of the library will be offered, refreshments will be served and live music performed, the library said.
The library is downtown at 20 Jesup Road. The program begins in the library's great hall and is co-sponsored by Neighbors and Newcomers of Westport.
