A historical re-enactor who portrays John Adams will adopt the persona of the nation's second president during a program at the Westport Library on Wednesday evening, Feb. 11.

George Baker, a New Canaan lawyer and Adams expert, will dress and speak the part during the free program, which begins at 7 p.m. in the McManus Room., the library said.

He also will adopt the role of Adams' wife, Abigail, to discuss how she defied the conventions of the time and how her financial skills made the Adams family prosperous, according to a library news release.

Baker in 2008 created a one-man show to represent the humor and patriotism of John Adams, the library said, and has performed at small and large venues across the country.
