A flowering of spring at the Westport Woman's Club
The bright weather brought forth an explosion of green thumbs Sunday and Monday, many pointing directly at the bounty of greenery offered at the Westport Woman's Club annual spring plant sale.
In addition to plants, flowers and herbs, the sale included plant containers and terrariums, gloves, sun hats and gardening guides set out across the club's Imperial Avenue property.
"We focused on container gardening this year, such as decorative floral displays for porches, patios and terraces," said Vivian Rosenberg, who co-chaired the event along with Jeannette Tewey.
Rosenberg said Monday that the sale's opening day Sunday was very busy. "After a long winter, planting is on a lot of people's minds," she said.
Funds raised by the event are dedicated to the club's charities, which include high school scholarships, food pantries, community grants and more.
