WESTPORT — A West Haven woman was recently arrested in connection with an alleged September 2018 hit-and-run, according to town police.

Jaylyn Wallace, 25, was charged with evading responsibility, failing to have minimum insurance and following too closely, police said.

The accident took place on Wilton Road near its intersection with Post West Road, police said.

“When the victim’s vehicle stopped behind traffic at the intersection, it was rear-ended by the suspect vehicle, which proceeded to turn right and continue westbound on Post Road West,” police said. “The victim was able to provide the registration number of the vehicle, which identified the owner as Jaylyn Wallace of West Haven, CT. The investigating officer later made contact with Wallace who agreed to provide her license, registration and insurance, which was later found to have been cancelled.”

Wallace turned herself in on an outstanding warrant Thursday, according to police.

She was released on a $500 bond and scheduled to appear in court in Norwalk on Thursday.
