WESTPORT — Police thanked the public Thursday for helping the department identify a suspect in a recent larceny in town.

The man, wanted for stealing a dozen eyeglass frames from a town business, has been identified, police said at 6:25 p.m. Thursday. Police initially asked for the public’s help to put a name to the face Wednesday.

Police have not yet released charges or any information regarding the man’s arrest.

The department said the man went into a business on Post Road recently and stuffed 12 glasses frames in his pant pockets before leaving the store without paying.
