WESTPORT — A Greenwich man was charged with larceny after allegedly taking cash from his place of business on two separate occasions, Westport police said.

Ivo Ivanov, 46, of Greenwich, was charged with two counts of third-degree larceny.

On July 10, Westport police responded to Honda of Westport for a report of two separate incidents of cash being taken from the business.

Two customers made deposits toward purchases of their vehicles from the business on June 28 and July 9, both of which were handled by employee Ivanov, police said. The money these customers paid was never received by management.

In total, police said, $15,9000 was taken — $6,000 the first time and $9,900 the second time.

Police submitted an arrest warrant application for Ivanov after an investigation. The arrest warrant was approved and Ivanov turned himself in to police headquarters on Aug. 3.

Ivanov was released after posting a $25,000 bond. He is expected in court on Aug. 14.
