Stamford police arrest man wanted for October car break-in
STAMFORD — Stamford Police officers were able to track down a man who allegedly broke into a car in October and stole a purse and multiple credit cards.
The original theft occured on Oct. 15 around 2:30 p.m., police said, at 1 Blachley Road.
Credit cards taken from the purse were used at local stores, at which point police were able to secure footage of the person using the cards.
Eventually, they arrested Vashaar Sarmad, 18, of Levittown, N.Y.
He was charged with two counts of third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, credit card fraud, two counts of credit card theft, two counts of sixth-degree larceny, third-degree criminal mishief and third-degree criminal tresspassing, police said.
