Metro-North trains delayed by power problems
UPDATE 8:40 PM
Metro North is advising all New Haven line customers they may experience delays of up to 15 minutes between Stamford and New Haven. This is a result of power shortages caused by a circuit breaker fire at an overhead power substation east of the Devon moveable bridge in Milford. The potential for delays will continue until interim repairs are completed and operations have been fully restored.
UPDATE 5:30 PM
The 5:35 p.m. train from Stamford to Grand Central Terminal has been cancelled because of power issues in Green’s Farms. Travelers are urged to take the 6:06 p.m. train.
UPDATE: 9:15 AM
“We are experiencing power issues at the substation in the area. Therefore, trains are having to operate at reduced speeds. The service advisory remains in effect.”
Metro-North is reporting delays of up to 30 minutes because of power problems Friday moring.
In a 4:35 a.m. advisory, it said “New Have Line customers should anticipate delays up to 30 minutes due to power issues in the vicinity of Southport and Green's Farm. Please listen for announcements at your station.’
Later updates still said delays up to 30 minutes are possible.
