STAMFORD — As autumn approaches, residents and wildlife alike are enjoying the seasonally cool days at Newman Mills Park in Stamford.

The first day of fall will be Tuesday, Sept. 22, with the day and night of nearly equal length. Our days will get shorter and shorter until the first day of winter on Monday, Dec. 21.

In the meantime, residents can enjoy sunny weather with highs between the mid-60s and mid-70s for the foreseeable future.

Newman Mills Park, a 7.6-acre property in North Stamford, is also known as Riverbank Park, with the Mianus River winding its way around the wooded site.
