BRIDGEPORT — A 21-year-old Stamford man suffered “non-life-threatening injuries” after he drove his scooter into a car attempting to make a U-turn, police said.

Police said the crash happened around 5:40 p.m. Thursday when Roland Campbell, of Stamford, attempted a left turn onto Willow Street and struck the U-turning vehicle.

Campbell was ejected from the scooter and injured in the process, police said.

Campbell was transported to Bridgeport Hospital and was released later Thursday night. Police said he was then arrested on an unrelated arrest warrant.

The driver of the car was uninjured in the crash.

Bridgeport Police Traffic Division Officer Cynthia Dolyak is leading an investigation into the crash.
