BRIDGEPORT — City firefighters pulled a person from the waters near the Pleasure Beach dock Tuesday afternoon, according to initial dispatch reports.

The call came in around 4:40 p.m. Fire units raced to the Pleasure Beach dock — near the intersection of Seaview and Central avenues.

First units on scene indicated they had a visual on the person in need of rescue, adding that the man was in the water between Pleasure Beach and the area of the Dolphin’s Cove Restaurant and Marina.

Officials said one person fell off a kayak.

A fire boat was launched into the Bridgeport Harbor and pulled the man to safety, before bringing him to the Pleasure Beach docks.

Officials said the person was showing “possible hypothermia symptoms.” The man was transferred to the care of medics at the Pleasure Beach dock and taken to a city hospital.
