Albany jury convicts Amsterdam man of sex attack in a Green St. home

ALBANY — An 26-year-old Amsterdam man is facing up to seven years of prison for strangling and sexually abusing a woman in 2015.

A jury on Friday convicted Jason Howard of the attack in a home on Green Street on Dec. 26, 2015. Howard choked the victim during the assault.

Howard was found guilty of first-degree sexual abuse and second-degree strangulation. He will be sentenced March 3 by state Supreme Court Justice Thomas Breslin.

Albany County Assistant District Attorney Caroline Murray was the prosecutor.
