Accidents give a rough start to the AM commute

Both accidents have been cleared with all lanes reported open.
The National Weather Service says the rain will continue through the morning commute.
Rain, mainly before 2 p.m. Areas of fog before 11am. High near 44. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 8 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Two early morning accidents have closed some lanes on I-95 on Thursday.
The first accident - reported at 2:56 a.m. - involved two vehicles in Greenwich. That crash has closed the northbound left lane between Exits 3 and 4.
The second accident in Westport has closed the right and center lanes between Exits 17 and 18.
The three-vehicle crash was reported at 3:05 a.m.
The weather will be a factor in the morning commute.
While southern Connecticut will get rain, the northern part of the state is under a Winter Weather Advisory until 10 a.m. Thursday.
A couple to several inches is possible in the Litchfield Hills, especially in higher-elevation areas.
