A Weston resident recently cycled for the fifth consecutive year in a 50-mile bicycle ride to benefit those afflicted with multiple sclerosis.
Tom McGee participated in the 2011 Bike MS: bkm/Steelcase Ride on June 5 at Griffin Center in Windsor. By doing so, the sales executive, who has a relative battling the disease, raised more than $5,600 for the Connecticut chapter of the National MS Society.
Thus far, the 2011 event, which had about 650 cyclists this year and features a second ride in Westport on Sunday has raised $291,000 toward a $587,000 fundraising goal. Fundraising continues through July 19.
