A senior science writer for Time Magazine will discuss her new book, Stem Cell Hope: How Stem Cell Medicine Can Change Our Lives, noon Monday, June 13, in the McManus Room of Westport Public Library, 20 Jesup Road.

Alice Park, the author, researched the development of stem cell science and what it means to the future of medicine for the book, an introduction to both the science and the scientists involved in stem cell medicine.

Park has reported on health and medicine for Time since 1993, covering issues such as AIDS, anxiety and Alzheimer's disease. Her work has been recognized with awards of excellence from the National Arthritis Foundation and the National Headache Foundation

The talk is free and open to the public. Books will be available for purchase and signing afterwards. A portion of the proceeds benefits the library.
