Stories about love at the Westport Arts Center
Five area storytellers will entertain audiences in a love-themed program, "Awake After Dark (But Home Early Enough in the Suburbs)," from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Westport Arts Center.
Doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for WAC members, $20 for non-members. The center, at 51 Riverside Ave., will offer complimentary light fare and a cash bar.
The evening's storytellers are Dee Andrian and Maureen Hallock of Westport, Joe Limone and Doris Storm Jacoby of Weston and Bob Johnson of Port Chester, N.Y. People in the audience also will be encouraged to enter their own three-minute stories to be selected from a hat during intermission.
The multi-generational storytellers will share 10-minute comedic snippets and moving sagas that range from the ridiculous to the sublime. The unifying theme among all the stories is "What I Did for Love" in honor of Valentine's Day.
