Project Return raised $160,000 during its 16th annual birdhouse auction, "Tweet Sixteen," in April at the Rolling Hills Country Club in Wilton.

More than 400 people turned out for the event, where 150 original birdhouses were auctioned to support Project Return.

Artists from Oregon to Westport donated creatively designed birdhouses to the auction marking the agency's 25th anniversary. Local artists contributing handmade birdhouses included Rick Benson and Miggs Burroughs.

The birdhouses were put on display by artists, event volunteers, downtown merchants prior to the auction.

Project Return serves adolescent girls and young women in crisis through its group home facility and other programs.
