The annual Westport Band Music Festival, featuring performances by bands from the town's public schools, on March 23 in Staples High School.

The event, set for 7:30 p.m., will feature the combined sixth-grade, combined seventh-grade and combined eighth-grade bands from Bedford and Coleytown middle schools, and the Staples High School freshman, sophomore and symphonic bands.

Guest conductor for this year's festival will be Westport Supervisor of Music David Winer, who will conduct Gustav Holst's First Suite in Eb for Military Band with the Staples Symphonic Band.

Each grade group will perform two short pieces. The performances will cover a range of music, from multi-cultural and standard selections, scores from films and culminating with a patriotic finale involving all of the bands.

There is no admission fee for the concert.
