Earthplace, the nature and environmental center in Westport, has named Emil Albanese and Michael Delgass as new members of its board of trustees.

Albanese is the founder, president and CEO of aE&t Worldwide Insurance Services, LLC, an insurance and financial firm. He is a National Quality Award winner and member of the Field Advisory Committee for several insurance carriers, as well as appearing in the Who's Who in the Financial Services Industry. Albanese also has been a member of corporate boards, including Presidential Life Insurance Co. and AIG/US Life Insurance Co./American General and is the board advisor for Flatbush Federal Savings Bank. He is currently the chairman of the board at LJ Productions in Washington, D.C.

Albanese is the chairman of the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency/Economic Development Corp., where he has been on board since 2004. He also has served on the board of the Make a Wish Foundation of Connecticut since 2004, and was elected vice chairman in 2006. He was the creator and managing director of the Harvest Ride, an event that benefits the Make a Wish Foundation of Connecticut. He is also a member of the board for the Norwalk Symphony Orchestra and the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk, and serves as the development chairman for the Norwalk Education Foundation. He is a past president of Sound Cyclists Bicycle Club, former chairman/creator of the SCBC Giving Council, and former chairman of the board of the Courage to Speak Foundation.

Albanese, a member of Earthplace since 2007, will be the co-chairman for the first Water Ball to be held in June and corporate chairman for the Green Earth Gala to be held in November. He lives in Norwalk with his son who attends the Earthplace Nursery School.

Delgass joined Sontag Advisory LLC in 2005, and is a principal of the firm in the Westport office. Prior to joining the firm he was a partner in several law firms, including Day Berry & Howard and Cummings & Lockwood. His expertise is in the areas of estate, tax, succession, asset protection and business planning. Delgass has written for professional publications and appeared on nationally syndicated radio shows. He is a former adjunct professor of estate and gift taxation at Northwestern University School of Law, and a former faculty member of the National Trust School and National Graduate Trust School of the American Bankers Association.

He served on the board of Soundwaters in Stamford and is a member of the Earthplace Harbor Watch/River Watch Committee.

Delgass and his family have been members of Earthplace since 2005. He lives in Weston with his wife and four children, the youngest of whom attends the Earthplace Nursery School.
