Culinary classes at the Westport Center for Senior Activities, 21 Imperial Ave., will feature local chefs as instructors.

Chef Bryan Malcarney of the Blue Lemon Restaurant will visit on Jan. 13 to make a meal featuring tomato white bean soup with vegetables, chicken with lemon and dill sauce, apple tartin and classic French upside down apple tart. The cost is $25.

Holistic health expert Jeanne Licurse will teach three classes. On Jan. 20, the menu will be sautéed greens quiche, pear and cranberry salad and baked pears with red wine and cream. On Feb. 10, she will prepare maple glazed tofu, roasted winter vegetables and scones. On March 10, she will feature rosemary roast chicken, green beans with garlic and ginger and key lime pie. The classes will take place from 3 to 5 p.m. and the cost is $6 per class.

On Saturdays, Katayoun Kamyab will demonstrate foods from her home country. Among the Persian meals will be mung bean soup, jeweled rice with chicken, pomegranate khoresh with chicken and wine and eggplant khoresh with beef and white rice. The classes will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Jan. 15, Feb. 5 and March 26. The cost is $6 per class.
