Librarian, literary critic and bestselling author Nancy Pearl will discuss the latest installment in her Book Lust series, Book Lust to Go: Recommended Reading for Travelers, Vagabonds, and Dreamers, at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 13 at the Westport Library's McManus room.
This compilation features fiction and nonfiction titles about 120 places, including imaginary ones, and promises reading suggestions for armchair and actual travelers alike.
In 1998, Pearl developed the program "If All of Seattle Read the Same Book," which spread across the country. She is the former executive director of the Washington Center for the Book, is a regular commentator about books on National Public Radio's "Morning Edition" and, in 2004, became the 50th winner of the Women's National Book Association Award for her contribution to the world of books.
The event is free, and books will be available for purchase and signing after the reading.
