The 12th-seeded Staples boys basketball team opens up its Class LL playoff run next Monday (March 7) when it hosts 21st-seeded Amity at 7 p.m.

Staples enters the game with a 15-6 record, 15-5 in the regular season, and hopes to rebound from its 83-70 loss to eventual-champion Bassick in the FCIAC quarterfinals. This is the Wreckers' first home playoff game since 2004 when it defeated Fairfield High in the Division I playoffs.

Amity enters the game at 13-9, 12-8 in the regular season. The Spartans defeated Foran in a play-in game in the SCC tournament before losing to top-seeded Career in the SCC quarterfinals.
