The Staples boys lacrosse team claimed local bragging rights in a battle of undefeated teams on Monday with a 10-5 victory at Weston. Staples raised its record to 10-0. Weston dropped to 9-1.

Junior captain Kip Orban proficiently ran the Wrecker offense with three goals, two assists and four ground balls. Senior Jeff Kelly had three goals. Staples did most of its damage in the first quarter by taking a 5-0 lead with Orban and Kelly running rampant on the Trojans.

Leading the Wrecker defense were junior Matt Yeager (14 ground balls) and senior captain Jack Ambrose (one goal, eight ground balls).
