The Staples boys lacrosse team continue to add a notch in its belt of accomplishments. Staples became one of the few Connecticut schools to beat a Catholic School in Long Island in its convincing 11-3 home victory over St. John the Baptist on Saturday to raise its record to 12-0. St. John dropped to a deceiving 4-10 (Long Island lacrosse is very competitive and St. John hung tough against Chaminade, the second-ranked team in Long Island).

Senior captain lefty Nate Greenberg and junior captain Kip Orban led the Wreckers with three goals each. Senior Jeff Kelly ably set up the offense with a goal and four assists.

Defensively, senior captain Jack Ambrose and junior Matt Yeager had seven ground balls each. Senior captain Austin Waiter made 11 saves and junior JB Breig had four saves.
