Just as its older cousin, Austin City Limits Music Festival, has brought crowds to this Texas city since 2002, a new festival in Norwalk hopes to do the same. Come ready to enjoy local musicians and delicious fare from area restaurants.

Produced by Norwalk Now, a collaborative marketing group that launched late last year, the five-day event is designed to “showcase area musicians (in more than 30 performances), create local foot traffic and relieve cabin fever,” according to a recent news release.

“Norwalk City Limits is a massive five-day schedule of live music performances which embraces all styles of music from acoustic rock, pop, jazz, fusion, country, and even children’s music,” says Linda Kavanagh, director of Norwalk Now. Among the musicians expected to perform are Glenn Roth, Charlie Scopoletti, Nick Depuy, Tom “the Suit” Forst, the Alpaca Gnomes and Tangled Vine.

Not to be outdone by the performers, restaurants will offer their own talents through prix fixe menus. “Groupies,” who manage to attend the most shows and take pictures with the most musicians, have a shot at a $500 gift package.

Various Norwalk restaurants and entertainment venues. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 8 p.m. to Sunday, Jan. 28 at midnight. Free entertainment; food for purchase. 203-561-9878. Full schedule here.
