TORRINGTON — A full lineup of entertainment has been announced for the fourth annual KidsPlay Family Fun Fair on Sunday, Feb. 18, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The fair takes place at the Warner Theatre and KidsPlay Children’s Museum.
The fair is KidsPlay's largest event of the year. It celebrates family, community, and fun. Families will explore exhibits, engage in creative activities, attend high-quality shows and learn about family-oriented organizations and resources.
The event includes three live performances in the Carole and Ray Neag Studio:
At 11:45 a.m., Harwinton based Matica premieres “Cycles,” a mystical-modern circus with performers engaging in circus acts of daring, beauty and joy both on the ground with acro, juggling, and unicycling and in the air on trapeze, lyra, and silks.
At 1:30 p.m., the Nutmeg Torrington School of Ballet will invite the audience to participate in an Interactive Ballet and Movement Class. After the class, the Nutmeg Torrington School of Ballet will present a short performance with costumes and music showing participants how the hard work of training culminates with a magical, on-stage production.
At 3 p.m., Adventure Bound will engage the audience in the “The Wild & Crazy Challenge.” During this high-energy, hands-on, and NUTTY game show, “contestants” are selected from the audience to answer questions and then compete in a fun, non-athletic physical challenge. Challenges are entertaining, engaging, and age appropriate.
Attendees can also explore KidsPlay’s interactive exhibits, participate in creative and hands-on activities, and learn about family-oriented organizations and resources in our community.
The Seneca Masonic Lodge of Torrington will provide a youth identification program, which provides an opportunity for families to create a kit of tools to help law enforcement authorities find and identify a lost or missing child. The Lions Clubs of Harwinton and Torrington will offer pediatric eye screenings to identify possible vision problems.
