BRANFORD — Stony Creek Brewery, which has expanded its craft-beer brewing capacity in recent years and operates a successful flagship tasting facility on Indian Neck Avenue, will open a two-story brewpub at Foxwoods Resort Casino this summer.

The annoucement by Foxwoods Tuesday said the new, 7,100-square-foot brewery will be Stony Creek’s second brewing operation and will seat more than 300 guests. The location will be next to the Fox Theater in the entertainment district of the sprawling resort in Mashantucket.

“We are thrilled to be able to deliver a true local beer experience to our guests and we have a tremendous in-state partner in Stony Creek Brewery,” said Jason Guyot, senior vice president resort operations & development at Foxwoods, in the release. “Stony Creek Brewery will be a unique, exciting attraction that we believe will be a hit with loyal Foxwoods guests.”

The ground floor will be designed as an ode to Stony Creek’s New England heritage with a large beer garden and a brew deck with a view into the brewhouse and beer production process. The release said food will be avaiable from “one of Foxwoods’ world-class dining experiences.” The second-floor design includes a Southern California-themed cocktail bar, a stage for live entertainment and an elevated banquet table overlooking the property.

There will also be a Pool House area, described as “an intimate space with canvas privacy screens, integrated bar counter and a large HD video screen.”

Budweiser Is No Longer One of the United States' Top Three Favorite Beers The all-American beer was knocked out of the top three by Miller Lite, with Coors Light coming in second and Bud Light finishing in first. The numbers are based on retail sales number put together by Beer Marketer's Insights. Overall, the sales of beer rose to $34.4 billion, despite the trend of people drinking less and less beer. Beer per capita consumption has been dropping for about a decade, (with beer) giving up share to spirits and wine.
