Rowayton Arts Center’s ‘BIG & small’ winners announced
A new show at the Rowayton Arts Center (RAC), “BIG & small,” on view through Saturday, May 11, is an all-media exhibition featuring artwork by RAC exhibiting members that are big (between 40 inches and 60inches ) or as small as 12 inches and under.
Winners for the following categories were announced at the opening on April 14: Katherine Draper, of Norwalk, for “Landscape Abstracted” (Best in Show); John Harris, of Norwalk, for “Will” (First Place, BIG); Lois Weingarten, of Bronx., N.Y., for “Woman in Negligee” (Second Place, BIG); Lynn Stephens Massey, of Norwalk, for “Oyster ‘Hair’ ” (Third Place, BIG); Judy Katz, of Westport, for “Vessels To Put Your Dreams In” (First Place, small); Lisa Laible, of Norwalk, for “Abundance of Completeness” (Second Place, small) and Sandy Mills, of Norwalk, for “Bluegrass” (Third Place, small).
The exhibition chair is Pamela Riley-Abear, while the judge, Steve diGiovanni, is a professional artist and instructor who teaches at the Creative Arts Workshop in New Haven, and is the head of the Drawing and Painting Department at Norwalk Community College and the Rowayton Arts Center.
