New England Ballet celebrates 25th annual production of ‘Nutcracker’
The New England Ballet Company’s 25th anniversary “Nutcracker” will be celebrated Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 10 and 11, at the Klein Memorial Auditorium in Bridgeport.

Executive director/founder Kenneth Hopkins noted in a news release, “The composer, Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, premiered his work (in 1892) during the holiday season, beginning a family tradition that has continued through the generations.
“The ballet tells the story of a Christmas party, the gift of a nutcracker doll to Clara from her toymaker godfather, Herr Drosselmeyer, and the young Clara’s dreams, all set to the beautiful melodies of the now famous score.”
Choreographer and artistic director is Victor Trevino. The company is based at 130 Elm St. in Bridgeport.
