Brookfield Craft Center showcases its glass, jewelry artists
Brookfield Craft Center is hosting a showcase of works from its glass and jewelry faculty and student artists in its Lynn Tendler Bignell Gallery.
The show opens with an artists’ reception Saturday, Aug. 24, from 5-8 p.m., and runs through Sunday, Sept. 15. The craft center annually hosts an exhibition of work from one of its eight craft studios. This year’s show, sponsored by Reid and Riege, P.C., will feature not only the outcome of the artists’ creative endeavors, but will also focus on the creative process, the craft center said in a news release.
The exhibition will showcase the processes, materials and finished works that reflect the possibilities for artistic development and expression its students learn in classes. Displays will include examples of rough materials and tools used and show the steps the faculty and students took to transform them into works of art.
“This is an inspiring exhibition,” Howard Lasser, the craft center’s executive director, was quoted saying in the release. “Here we show that with a little inspiration and guidance from our faculty everyone, regardless of prior experience, can create something wonderful.”
All sales within the gallery and shop will be tax free and members will receive an additional 10 percent off all purchases during the reception.
