FIELD HOCKEY

New Canaan 4, Ridgefield 1: Austin Ready scored twice while Alexandra Jonker and Caroline Falcone also tallied as New Canaan defeated Ridgefield. Maggie Hart had three assists while Maggie Burke chipped in two assists. Amanda Milanovich made three saves in net for New Canaan (4-0). For Ridgefield (4-2, 3-2), Hannah Ramsey scored while Jennifer James registered six saves in net.

DARIEN 2, NORWALK 0: Darien's Maddie Gill (assisted by Ellie Riegel) and Riegel (assisted by Alex Iqbal) each scored a goal in the win over Norwalk. Darien had 19 shots to Norwalk's five. Darien goalie Anya Falcone had 11 saves.

TAFT 2, GREENS FARMS ACADEMY 0: Lane McCarthy scored twice to lift Taft to its non-league win over GFA. Rebecca Stock made five saves for GFA.

GIRLS SOCCER

ST. JOSEPH 5, TRINITY CATHOLIC 0: St. Joseph's Alyssa Christo scored two goals along with Sarah Frassetto, Sylvia Yanez and Samantha Murray, leading the Cadets past Trinity Catholic. For Trinity, goalie Lelia Barden made nine saves.

Wilton 1, Darien 1: Wilton's Casey Pearsall and Darien's Nina Pawelcyk traded goals as the teams battled to a tie. Elizabeth Reda made five saves for Wilton (3-1-1). Anne Fucigna registered four saves for Darien (3-0-1).

Fairfield Ludlowe 2, Norwalk 0: Chrissy Lozier and Mary Kamovitch scored off passes from Brooke Mackno as Ludlowe (3-2) blanked Norwalk Wednesday night. Ashley Crowe (no saves), Blakeley Zecher (two saves) and Melissa Gigliotti (three saves) combined in net for the shutout. For Norwalk (0-5), Stephanie Gonzalez made seven saves against a barrage of 33 Ludlowe shots.

New Canaan 0, Fairfield Warde 0: New Canaan's Holly Burwick made two saves while Warde's Ali Rocchi registered nine saves as the teams battled to a scoreless tie. New Canaan is 4-0-1.

Ridgefield 2, Staples 0: Ridgefield blanked Staples in Wednesday night's late contest.

HOPKINS 2, GREENS FARMS ACADEMY 1: Aliza Van Leesten scored both of Hopkins' goals in their Fairchester Athletic Association win over Greens Farms Academy. For Greens Farms Academy it was its first loss of the season.

Other standouts for Staples included Paulina Tziolis (four kills, 15 service points) and Zana Hrvacic (five kills, 23 assists, 11 service points). Pacing Wilton (1-5) were Stephanie Boyles (six kills, two blocks, five service points) and Lindsay Waack (eight assists, seven service points).

Westhill 3, Bassick 0: Felicia Kazantzidi finished with 17 service points and four aces as Westhill (3-2) swept Bassick, 25-13, 25-12, 25-12. Greenwich 3, Trumbull 1: Kate Centofanti recorded 13 kills, 12 service points and four aces to lead Greeenwich (5-1) to its 25-18, 25-17, 25-11 victory over Trumbull. Kristina Pflug added seven kills and four blocks, Michelle Vogt added five kills and Christine Lo had 19 kills and 10 service points for GHS. Pacing Trumbull were Tori Westmore (16 assists), Marena Cruz (seven digs) and Brittany Flack added six digs for Trumbull.

GREENS FARMS ACADEMY 3, HOLY CHILD 1: Greens Farms Academy won over Fairchester Athletic Association rival Holy Child, 25-15, 21-25, 25-17, 25-22. Emily Blum led GFA with 17 assists while Avery Kernan added 10 kills and Zoe Bennett had five aces and three digs.

BOYS SOCCER

GREENS FARMS ACADEMY 1, MASTERS 0: Greens Farms Academy's Rex Tavello, assisted by Spencer Traver, scored the contest's only goal during the first five minutes of the first half of Wednesday's Fairchester Athletic Association game against Masters. Masters' goalie Mehran Hicks registered 10 saves, while Greens Farms Academy goalie Francis Herman had five saves in the shutout.

CaNTERBURY 1, ST. LUKE'S 0: Canterbury's David Wildman scored an unassisted goal that lead his team to its non-league victory over St. Luke's. The Crusaders registered 25 shots on Canterbury goalie Mike Santacruz.
