Bruce Wettenstein has been elected vice president of the Connecticut Chapter of the Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (SIOR).

The Easton resident entered the commercial real estate business in 1977 when he joined the Norwalk-based commercial real estate firm, DiScala Associates. In 1989 he left the firm, which had become a Grubb & Ellis Company, and became director of marketing for the Stratford Development Company, a real estate development firm that at the time had a 50 percent vacancy factor. In 1993, Wettenstein joined Randy Vidal at Vidal, Inc. in Westport, and in 1996 he became a partner with the firm.

In his career, Wettenstein has been responsible for the sales and leasing of commercial properties in excess of $350 million of value.
