Resident earns national graphic design honors

Nancy Ruzow, a Westport-based graphic designer, recently won an American Graphic Design Award for work done for the Westport Public Library.

Graphics for the 2010 Westport Public Reads program and the 2009/10 Peru logo for Norwalk-based Builders Beyond Borders were among two of seven American Graphic Design Awards bestowed upon Ruzow Graphics. The firm also received awards for the logo designs of SRA Fabrics, Friedman Ink, Katie Petitio, the New York Building Congress' annual report and American Private Funds' financial sales sheets.

For nearly 50 years, Graphic Design USA has presented national design awards that spotlight areas of excellence and opportunity for creative professionals. The 2010 American Graphic Design Awards attracted more than 8,000 entries and 15 percent were recognized with an Award of Excellence.

Trainer joins Active Aging program

Westport's Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Fairfield County has hired personal trainer Julienne Camhi to work in its Active Aging program.

Camhi is a Personal Trainer and is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as a health fitness specialist. She brings more than a decade of professional experience to the agency as a fitness instructor with special interest in senior fitness.

Kaia Yoga adds Family Center programming

The Kaia Yoga Complete Wellness Centers have added robust prenatal, birth and family programming to their Westport Family Center.

The new Family Center programming will touch on all aspects of the family, and will provide private and group classes for Lamaze, HypnoBirthing, breastfeeding, individual lactation consultations, support and services for C-section or breech deliveries, birth trauma, and a wide variety of parenting classes from sleep issues to parenting multiples.

Spring 2011 programs will include a variety of pediatric workshops hosted by Kaia Yoga and presented by the centers' community of holistic practitioners. Topics will include: naturopathic, homeopathic, ayurvedic and traditional Chinese medicine.
