It's like Chipotle, but with Mediterranean food.
Fast-casual Mediterranean eatery Sono Falafel opened earlier this month on North Main Street in South Norwalk, in the space that once housed Jax & Co. Low Country Kitchen.

Like Chipotle, Sono Falafel offers a fully customizable menu that allows customers to choose a base, protein and toppings, plus a plethora of sides. Instead of rice, burritos or tacos, you start with a pita or wrap (or they can opt for a "platter" of protein and toppings).
Then build upon your base by choosing from a range of proteins including fried or grilled falafel (garbanzo beans and spices), chicken shawarma or kabob, or lamb shawarma or kafta.

Round out your meal with a variety of toppings, including hummus, baba ganoush, tabbouleh, grilled vegetables, rice, tahini sauce and more. Don't forget the sauce: Sono Falafel offers lemon juice, garlic sauce, ranch and other flavorful condiments to top off your meal with.
Though its been only for just a few weeks, Sono Falafel has earned some rave reviews already.
Sono Falafel is open Sunday - Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., and from 11 a.m. until midnight on Friday and Saturday. Visit the restaurant's Facebook page for more information.
