Danbury’s Iqvia seeks to link coronavirus patients to drug trials
Iqvia has a new online tool to help match interested patients diagnosed with the novel coronavirus with possible clinical trials of drugs under development to combat the virus.
With dual headquarters in Danbury and Research Triangle Park, N.C., Iqvia Holdings has two main lines of business, a pharmaceutical life sciences information and analytics business that has its heritage in Danbury, and a separate division managing clinical trials for drug developers. The company employs about 67,000 people worldwide.
Iqvia’s COVID-19 trial matching tool is online at c19trials.com. The 10-minute questionnaire attempts to match patients according to their profile and geography with research and clinical trials being planned.
Under a Coronavirus Treatment Acceleration Program, the Food & Drug Administration had 10 therapies in active trials entering April, with another 15 in the planning stages at that point.
