Sport: Hockey

Accomplishment: Scored a hat trick and had two assists in Staples-Weston-Shelton's 9-2 win over Westhill on Friday at Milford Ice Pavillion.

Female

Deanna Baris

School: Staples

Grade: Junior

Sport: Gymnastics

Accomplishment: Recorded a team-high score of 8.375 in the beam event, helping Staples take second in the event at the Class L state championship on Saturday at Pomperaug High School in Southbury. Had second-highest all-around score (31.225) on team. The Wreckers took sixth overall out of eight teams.
