The Westport News Athletes of the Week for Feb. 11-17

Male

Ethan Hunter

School: Staples

Grade: Sophomore

Sport: Swimming

Accomplishment: Won the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.63 to propel Staples past Darien 94-92 last Wednesday at home.

Female

Hannah DeBalsi

School: Staples

Grade: Freshman

Sport: Indoor track

Accomplishment: Finished first in the 3,200-meter run with a state-record time of 10:44.57 and took second in the 1,000 in 3:00.03 at the LL state championships on Saturday in New Haven.
