The Westport News' Athletes of the Week for Oct. 22-28

MALE

Name: Joey Zelkowitz

School: Staples

Grade: Senior

Sport: Football

Accomplishment: Running back rushed for 138 yards and two touchdowns on 10 carries, and had an 83-yard touchdown catch in a 63-28 win over Darien on Saturday. He also forced a fumble at cornerback.

FEMALE

Name: Hannah DeBalsi

School: Staples

Grade: Freshman

Sport: Cross country

Accomplishment: Finished second at the Class LL state championships with a time of 19:17 at Wickham Park in Manchester on Saturday.
