HIGH SCHOOL ROUNDUP: Gagnon nets four as Bethel girls edge Immaculate

BETHEL -- Eloise Gagnon scored four goals and assisted on two others as the Bethel High School girls lacrosse team edged South-West Conference rival Immaculate 12-9 on Wednesday. Savanah Pipkin scored three goals, Kaelin Hogan added two goals and an assist and Sofia Orrico scored her first varsity goal. Hogan's goal about 10 minutes into the second half gave Bethel its first two-goal lead of the game. Olivia Franzese made seven saves to seal the win. Maeve Reilly scored four goals for Immaculate, Jaclyn Daily and Jill Mitchell scored two apiece and Bryanna Lopes made three saves.

COMING EVENTS

The Fairfield County Sports Commission will present a free panel discussion called "Everything You Need to Know About the College Recruiting Process, But Were Afraid to Ask" on April 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Chelsea Piers in Stamford. College coaches and administrators from Division I, Division II and Division III comprise the expert panel, which will educate parents and student athletes on the process from making initial contact to financial-aid opportunities to all questions pertaining to this key life decision. Panel members include: Byron Knox, head women's gymnastics coach, University of Bridgeport; Andy Lausier, head wrestling coach, Sacred Heart University; Keith Levinthal, Athletic Director, Manhattanville College; Cary Nadel, Director, National Scouting Report.
