The Greens Farms Academy girls tennis team wrapped up its season by taking second place at the New England Class A Tennis Tournament at the Hotchkiss School this past weekend.
Second-seeded GFA defeated Loomis Chaffee and Kingswood-Oxford on Saturday to secure a spot in the finals against the top-seed Hotchkiss on Sunday.
The Dragons started the final by surprising Hotchkiss, winning two of the three doubles matches before the six singles matches took the courts.
However, GFA had trouble with Hotchkiss' singles lineup.

In the match of the day, playing #1 doubles for GFA, Garofalo and Sanzone faced multiple match points in an incredible comeback victory.
Down 7-4 in the pro-set, the duo battled back and won, 9-7.
This is the third time in four years Hotchkiss has won the New England title, last year GFA and Hotchkiss shared second place with Kingswood-Oxford winning the big prize.
Before taking second at New Englands, GFA hosted the FAA Tournament, where the undefeated doubles team of Kjorlien and Wolfe captured the FAA doubles title. This is the second year in a row that Kjorlien has won this title and the first for the freshman Wolfe.
The GFA girls lacrosse team lost 13-8 to Sacred Heart in the FAA semifinals last week.
Meighan Grady led the Dragons offensively with three goals and an assist and Caroline Vanacore and Phebe Wong each added two goals. Goalie Morgan Bingham had six saves. GFA ended the season at 16-3 -- its best season in years.
