Boys lacrosse

GFA had its first game of the season against the Hyde School March 29 and came home with a 12-4 win. Starting in goal, junior Riley Grady was solid in the cage. Seniors Parker Whitmore and Sam Hodge anchored an impressive defensive unit that only allowed six goals in two scrimmages a one game so far this season.

Dragons senior Conor Eckert led the attack on offense with five goals and one assist. Sophomore Jack Mackle had two goals and one assist, senior Brendan Beider had two goals, junior Martin Brennan had two goals and senior Max Tarika had one goal and one assist. The Dragons return to action on April 2 against Willbraham and Monson.

Sailing

The Dragons opened their season at Greenwich Boat and Yacht Club March 27 against Darien and Greenwich. GFA took two close losses to both schools. Seniors Andrew McCarthy and Allie Nixon led the team. The other sailors who raced in the event were senior Olivia Taylor, sophomore Josh Gleason, junior Hayes Marcus, junior Lily McGonagle, sophomore Caroline Booth (Westport), and sophomore Marguerite Courtemanche. The Dragons race again in Greenwich on April 2.
