Danny Balin of Burning Tree Country Club in Greenwich added another New York State Open championship to his resume, winning the 54-hole tournament at Bethpage Black for the second straight year on Thursday.

Balin finished the three-round tournament at 7-under-par 206, two strokes ahead of runner-up Andrew Giuliani. Balin carded a 5-under-par 66 the first round and shot a 3-under 68 in the second. He finished at 1-over-par 72 Thursday, a solid score considering the windy and rainy conditions.

Balin, who will compete in the PGA Championship for the fourth straight year in two weeks, recorded three birdies on the front nine and one on the back on Thursday in a victory that made him $17,500 richer. Giuliani finished at 5-under 208, followed by Dan McCarthy (Bellevue CC), who shot a 209.
