The shingle-style Colonial house at 19 Duck Pond Road has so many graceful lines and curves, inside and out, that it seems to undulate like the waters of the pond that gives the street its name.

The 3,456-square-foot house, built in 1994, sits near the water's edge on a 0.75-acre property in the Saugatuck Shores section of town. It looks over the Saugatuck Harbor Yacht Club and has 90 feet of waterfront on the pond, which opens to Long Island Sound. The owners can kayak or use a small sailing vessel on the pond and beyond.

The graceful features start with the covered entryway of the house including an arched entrance, barrel ceiling and white pillars. The arch is repeated in the transoms above the front door, the wall of windows in the formal living room and the rounded bay of windows of the formal dining room. The curved stairway has a solid cherry newel post topped with a brass pineapple, a symbol of hospitality.

This is a great home for entertaining, with its open flow and expansive wood decks and custom cedar railings.

In the two-story foyer, limestone tiles with small white marble inserts cover the floor and the walls are paneled. This ground floor contains three bedrooms, an office, laundry room and family room. The office and one bedroom have porcelain tile flooring. The family room has custom cabinets, built-in bookshelves, and dovetailed Wainscoting and chair rail. French doors lead to a herringbone-patterned red brick patio with a border of Belgian block.

On the upper level, the living room features a double-story vaulted ceiling, hand-pegged mahogany beams, integrated track lighting, and 5-inch-wide cherry plank floors with satin finish. The mahogany built-in bookcases were designed in the Rennie MacIntosh Arts & Crafts style with storage window seat. The surround of the oversized fireplace has four 17th-century Delft tiles depicting nautical scenes and the hearth comprises blue Brazilian marble. Two sets of French doors lead to the large wood deck, part of which is covered.

There is also a wet bar with floating mirrored storage walls, granite counter, brass sink, built-in wine rack, wine cooler and beverage refrigerator.

The kitchen, designed in the overall English traditional style, features a marble floor, center island, solid cherry cabinets with beveled glass doors and interior lighting, black granite counters and solid brass hardware. The pantry has a lighted niche for additional storage. The white tiles of the backsplash are punctuated with decorative tiles of various types of waterfowl. One wall opens to the dining room.

Appliances include a Dacor computerized wall oven, six-burner Viking range with convection oven, dual exhaust fans, GE Monogram refrigerator and Bosch dishwasher.

Also on this level is the master bedroom suite. French doors lead to a private wood deck. In the master bath there is a heated floor, double vanity with Empress Verde marble counters, double shower with frameless glass shower door, temperature-controlled rain shower head, and a large jetted tub with marble surround. The walls are covered with custom raised relief French tiles. There is also a hand-forged bronze chandelier.
