San Antonio-based real estate firm The Lynd Co. and its partners closed a deal for space at the 100-story John Hancock Center in Chicago.

The 3.1 million-square-foot tower, which opened in 1970, was subdivided last year; and each component was subsequently sold, according to a news release. The Lynd Co. and its partners purchased floors 13 through 41, totaling 900,000 square feet of office space; a 710-space parking facility; and most of the common areas, including the outdoor plaza, concourse, and the entries and lobbies on Chestnut and Delaware streets.

The terms of the deal weren't disclosed.

Lynd's partners include Chicago-based The Hearn Co., a commercial real estate firm, and private investment firm Mount Kellett Capital Management LP.
