NEW MILFORD -- A tractor-trailer driver from New York state suffered a back injury Thursday after a load of concrete he was hauling slid off his truck, causing the rig to tip over on Kent Road (Route 7 North) at the intersection of Straits Rock Road, local police said.
The driver, identified as W.J. Leonard, 50, of Craryville, N.Y., was in a tractor-trailer owned by Gromax LLC of Hudson, N.Y., when the accident occurred, said Lt. Larry Ash.
The concrete in the truck spilled onto Route 7, and the state highway department was called to help clean up the road, which was blocked for more than three hours, Ash said.
According to Ash, Leonard was treated at New Milford Hospital for his injuries.
