BRIDGEPORT -- A 58-year-old man was shot in the foot Thursday after a confrontation with two men on Grove Street, police said.

The victim told police that he was confronted as he got out of his car by the suspects, who he said grabbed him and began to go through his pockets.

When he tried to get back into his car, the victim said he heard a shot and found that he'd been shot in the right foot. The suspects ran away and the victim was treated for the gunshot wound at St. Vincent's Medical Center, police said. Detectives are investigating the incident and have recovered ballistic evidence, department spokesman William Kaempffer said.
