Attempt at fraud at Saks leads to arrest

GREENWICH — Takeita Lindsey, 21, of East 122nd Street, New York City, was charged with forgery, larceny criminal impersonation and criminal attempt at larceny Saturday afternoon.
Police said she went to Saks on Greenwich Avenue and attempted to buy an expensive handbag. She produced a Florida driver’s license and attempted to use a Sak’s private account to make the purchase. Store personnel contacted the person who holds the private account and discovered that Lindsey was seeking to make a fraudulent purchase. According to the arrest report, “A check of the Florida driver’s license revealed that same was fraudulent.”
Lindsey was released on $250 bail and ordered to appear in court July 3.
