A 41-year-old Westport man was arrested twice on Sunday for an incident involving a woman.

Police said officers responded at about 1 a.m. to a report of man and woman yelling at each other in an apartment above Parkway Liquors, 339 Main St.

Police said responding officers discovered that the man, Alan Unger, had a warrant out for his arrest for failure to appear and took him into custody.

Police said the woman posted a $1,000 bond for Unger later that morning even though Unger allegedly broke items in her apartment and struck her face and arm for taking too long to get him out of jail.

The woman called the police at about 11:30 a.m. and Unger was charged with third-degree assault and disorderly conduct, police said.

He went to court Monday for the assault and disorderly conduct charges and is due in court on May 16 for the failure to appear charge.
